Ketofiti ("we", "us") is a ketogenic-diet companion app operated by Xcobean Systems Limited, Nairobi, Kenya. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Ketofiti provides general nutrition information and tracking tools and is not a medical service.
Information we collect
Account details you provide: name and email address, and an optional phone number if you turn on WhatsApp reminders or pay with M-Pesa.
Health and fitness data you enter or that the app records: weight, BMI, body-fat, ketone readings, food and meal logs, water and electrolyte intake, steps, fasting sessions, and your goals.
Profile and preferences: sex, date of birth, height, activity level, budget tier, town or county, meal times, and unit preferences, used to build your plan and suggestions.
Health app data: if you grant permission, we read your step count and body weight from Apple Health or Health Connect. We never write to them except weight entries you choose to save.
Photos and text you submit for logging: food photos or descriptions you send to the AI logging feature, processed only to identify the food and estimate portions.
Community content: posts you make in the anonymous community are stored under a pseudonym you choose, never your real name.
Purchases: subscription status and transaction identifiers from Apple, Google, or M-Pesa. We never receive or store your card number.
Technical data: basic diagnostic and error logs needed to keep the service working and secure.
How we use it
To calculate your macros and targets and personalise meal, snack, and budget suggestions.
To track your progress, reminders, fasting, and community participation.
To process subscriptions and, if you order food, to fulfil and deliver it.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run Ketofiti, and only for that purpose: our cloud hosting (Google Cloud), our AI processing gateway for food-logging features, payment processors (Apple, Google, and Safaricom M-Pesa), and messaging providers for reminders you opt into. When you tap to contact a doctor or a hospital, that action is initiated by you; we never contact anyone on your behalf automatically.
Sensitive health data
Health data is sensitive. It is used only to provide the app's features to you, is linked to your account, and is never used for advertising. You can delete individual entries in the app at any time, and you can delete your whole account (see below).
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal and health data from our systems, except limited records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Children
Ketofiti is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
