Who should talk to a doctor first
Keto is not safe for everyone. Check before you start.
Please speak to a doctor before starting keto if you:
- Have type-1 diabetes, or take insulin, sulfonylureas, or SGLT2-inhibitor medicines. The SGLT2 combination in particular can be dangerous.
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Have kidney, liver or pancreas disease.
- Have a history of an eating disorder.
Some rare metabolic disorders make keto unsafe entirely. Ketofiti asks a few screening questions at sign-up to flag these. This app gives general information, not medical advice.
