Stuck? Check for Hidden Carbs First

If the scale has truly not moved in three or four weeks, and the trend line is flat, it is time to be a detective. The most common reason keto stalls is hidden carbs sneaking back in. That small serving of ugali at a friend's place, sugar in your chai, a soda here and there, mandazi at the office, or too much fruit all add up quietly. Also watch the amounts. Even keto foods like nuts, cheese or too much cooking oil can slow things if you eat plenty. For one week, write down everything that enters your mouth. You will often spot the leak yourself. Tighten it up, and the scale usually moves again. Also remember the tape measure and how your clothes fit. Sometimes you are losing fat and gaining a little muscle, so the waist shrinks even when the number stays. If you have a health condition, check with a doctor before making big changes.

Takeaway. A real plateau usually means hidden carbs or oversized portions crept back, so track every bite for a week to find the leak.
