Clearing Your Pantry First
Willpower fails when temptation sits on the shelf. Before you start, go through your kitchen and set aside the foods that will trip you up: the sugar packet, bread, mandazi, flour, rice, and sodas. You do not have to throw food away and waste money, that is painful. Instead, give it to family or a neighbour, or store it out of sight for the rest of the household if they are not doing keto. Then make one small shopping trip for your first week: a tray of eggs, sukuma, a little meat or omena, cooking oil, and salt. These stretch far on a tight budget. Having your keto foods ready and the tempting ones gone means that when hunger hits at 8pm, the easy choice in front of you is already the right one. A tidy pantry does half the work for you.
Takeaway. Move the tempting starch and sugar out of sight before day one, not after.
